If you’ve been struggling with digestive issues, an autoimmune disease or another chronic condition for a long period of time, then I know depression, anxiety, and stress can set in. When that happens, no matter what you do, your symptoms will get worse, and you won’t heal. No matter how clean you’re eating or how many great supplements you’re taking, if you’re chronically stressed and in a depressed mental state, then your body is not in a place to heal.
It is absolutely necessary that you maintain a positive mindset and BELIEVE you can heal. When I was at my absolute worst, I was eating a strict Paleo diet, and taking high quality supplements. However, I was more stressed than I’ve ever been in my life, and I had a pretty negative attitude. I had lost faith and was ready to give up. I started to believe that the world would be better off without me. My family wouldn’t have to worry, and I wouldn’t be in pain. That mindset just kept me spiraling downward. It wasn’t until I took drastic measures to manage my stress and develop a positive mindset, that things started to change for the better. For me, I started praying regularly and trusting in the Lord. I have always been a religious person, but I hadn’t been a very spiritual person. It felt so comforting to give everything over to the Lord and put my healing in His hands. I was trying to do everything on my own, and that wasn’t working. I encourage you to reconnect with your spirituality and reach out to family and friends for support.
