Probiotics, SIBO, and the Microbiome with Angela Privin

nutrition Apr 10, 2017

There are a lot of people today suffering from digestive problems like IBS, SIBO, and IBD. While digestive conditions are on the rise, if you’re dealing with digestive issues, it can often feel very isolating. Do you ever feel like you’re alone in this? I have felt that way many times.

For me, it was always encouraging and uplifting to hear testimonials from others who dealt with similar issues and conquered them. They survived, thrived, and came out on top. Hearing those stories always gave me the motivation to keep going and to not give up hope.

A perfect example of someone who has conquered IBS is my friend and fellow health coach, Angela Privin. She dealt with debilitating IBS and was able to completely eliminate her symptoms naturally through diet, supplements, and changing her environment.

Angela shares certain things that aided in her healing, but the thing that had the biggest impact was taking charge of her health and making it her number 1 priority. That involved making massive lifestyle changes. She was committed, she was motivated, and she was determined to do what was necessary to allow her body to heal.

In our interview, Angela shares her story of healing and specific protocols she used. Then we dive into practitioner mode and discuss some of the best probiotics for IBS and SIBO. That leads us into a discussion on the microbiome and how your gut affects just about everything, including stress, anxiety, and mood.

There’s a lot of confusion around the role of probiotics for IBS and SIBO. If you have SIBO should you take probiotics? Do they help or harm? Angela helps break that down and offer some clarity around probiotics and the best ones to use if you have SIBO.

Diving a little deeper, we discuss the microbiome, key contributors that damage it, and how you can rebuild it. Angela also shares some studies that link the health of your microbiome to the health of your mood and emotions. One study even showed that certain probiotics may be as effective as antidepressants, and much safer.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch this video and please share your thoughts in the comments section below!
